Simon is a Partner in the firm and has been with MCP since 1989. He qualified first as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives and, subsequently in 1996, as a Solicitor and also becoming a Partner in the firm that year..
Subsequently he studied for and obtained a Diploma in Trust and Estates Law from the Society of the Trust and Estate Practitioners. He is also a registered Trust and Estate Practitioner.
Simon practices in three main areas of law. Firstly, he prepares numerous Wills and acts in varied and complex estate administration work. Secondly, he has for over 25 years conducted civil litigation work. He has a particular interest and experience in probate related litigation, such as claims (both taking and defending) under the Inheritance Act. Finally, he has a wide experience of Office of the Public Guardian/Court of Protection work. He is routinely appointed as Attorney or Deputy to manage clients' financial affairs and indeed he is one of the select band of Panel Deputies (fewer than 70 across the entire country) appointed by Judges of the Court of Protection.
He is also a Panel Guardian for the purposes of the Guardianship (Missing Persons) Act 2017.
