Chris Parslew

Solicitor

Chris has been a consultant solicitor with MCP since August 2022.  He qualified first as a barrister, and then as a solicitor in 1994.  He has invaluable and in-depth experience in all aspects of corporate and business law practice.

Having a family background in business, Chris developed an early interest in commercial work. His legal career started in ship sales and purchases, giving him a good grounding in high value commercial contract work, followed by a move to shipping litigation.  He had an aptitude for litigation and gained very considerable experience with international commercial disputes, international remedy work, contract based litigation, land based litigation and employment law.  He travelled extensively to represent clients in Singapore, Indonesia, Switzerland, Turkey, Europe and the USA.

Chris settled in West Norfolk in 1998 and was a Partner in a local firm, undertaking commercial work, before setting up in sole practice in 2011 when he was retained to represent clients in commercial litigation to undertake corporate and property work.

He joined MCP as a consultant in August 2022, in what was intended to be a temporary arrangement , to assist with the high volume of corporate work.  The department has since remained very busy, and he has stayed. He enjoys working as part of a team and dealing with a variety of interesting, and at times challenging, commercial matters. His range of work includes but is not limited to:

  • the sale and purchase of a business whether by asset, or share sale or purchase,
  • the drawing of partnership and shareholder agreements,
  • company re-structuring and share issues,
  • contracts and terms of business,
  • reinstatement of companies,
  • intellectual property transactions.

In his spare time,Chris relaxes by renovating the Old Rectory where he lives, and breeding springer spaniels. He also enjoys a nice glass of red wine!
