Baljit qualified as a solicitor in March 2011. She has worked at MCP since April 2008 as a paralegal then trainee solicitor before qualifying.
Baljit works in both the Wills and Probate and the Family Departments. Her time is divided as to 60% Wills and Probate and 40% Family work.
In the Wills and Probate Department, Baljit deals with Wills, and will visit clients in hospital/care homes or their own home at no extra charge if this is necessary. She prepares Lasting Powers of Attorney and acts as a certificate provider for those. She assists families in making applications to become a Deputy. Baljit has experience in handling estates of varying complexity from relatively straightforward to those where there are substantial assets.
In Family work Baljit acts in divorce proceedings and in the preparation of Separation Agreements and Pre and Post Nuptial Agreements. She acts in disputes involving children and financial affairs where relationships have broken down, both in negotiations and representation in court proceedings where those are necessary. She also prepares Change of Name Deeds and Declarations of Trust for couples buying property together.
Baljit is actively involved in networking and is a member of the firm's Marketing Committee
