Baljit is a Partner in the firm. She qualified as a solicitor in March 2011 and has worked at MCP since April 2008  as a paralegal then trainee solicitor before qualifying.

Baljit is Head of the Wills and Probate Department and works predominantly in that area but also deals with some matrimonial matters.

Within the Wills and Probate Department Baljit deals with both simple and complex Wills, visiting clients in hospital/care homes or their own home at no extra charge if this is necessary. She also assists donors to make and register Lasting Powers of Attorney or family members to register Enduring Powers of Attorney, as well as assisting families to make applications to the Court of protection to become a Deputy for someone who is unable to manage their finances themselves and does not have an LPA or EPA in place. Many clients also ask Baljit to act as their Professional Attorney to assist them in managing their financial affairs if they became incapacitated.

Baljit has extensive experience in handling probate estates of varying complexity from relatively straightforward estates under the tax threshold to those with substantial assets.

Within the Family Department Baljit acts in divorce proceedings and assists clients with financial matters including the preparation of Consent Orders and Separation Agreements. She acts in disputes involving children in negotiating and settling child arrangements.

She also prepares Change of Name Deeds and Declarations of Trust for couples buying property together.

Baljit is actively involved in networking and is a member of the Firms’ Marketing Committee.

Baljit’s other responsibilities in the Firm include heading the IT Department, and Office Manager at the Peterborough Office.
