Steve Welcomme

Partner - Solicitor

Steve is a Senior Partner in MCP which he joined in 1986. He qualified as a solicitor in 1988.  He has a wide range of experience in all aspects of the law and brings that experience to his corporate and business law practice.

The firm is a business, and Steve has hands on practical experience of helping to run the firm and has for many years chaired partnership meetings. This provides invaluable experience and knowledge for his company and business clients.

He deals with a range of commercial work including, but not limited to, the sale or acquisition of a business, whether by asset or share sale or purchase; the drawing of Partnership or shareholders agreements and contracts or terms of business; the sale or purchase of commercial property and leases.

He has built a strong reputation over the years for dealing with complex family law matters where there is a farming or commercial element. He was mentioned in the Legal 500 as standing out for his work in complex financial cases and for his calm approach. He now brings that expertise and approach to his corporate and business practice.

Steve believes strongly in the importance of getting to know, and working closely with, his clients, building a rapport with them, being accessible, and always keeping the client informed. He aims to provide a friendly and efficient service and is highly recommended by his clients.

In order to deliver this efficient and accessible service he will often bring in colleagues within the Business Support Group and other departments to assist.

Out of the office Steve finds relaxation in walking, friends and good food. When asked about memorable things he has done he mentioned that he has sailed the Atlantic and sailed in the Fastnet race, although the biggest challenge was probably raising the children !
