Simon Scott

Partner

Simon is a Senior Partner in the firm and has been with MCP since 1989. Obtaining an Honours Degree in Physics along the way, he qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives in 1990 and then in 1995 as a Solicitor, becoming a Partner in the firm in that year. Subsequently he studied for and obtained a Diploma in Trust and Estates Law from the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. He is also a registered Trust and Estates Practitioner.

For many years Simon was a Panel Deputy of the Office of the Public Guardian/Court of Protection, and he continues to carry out such work, also managing a number of clients’ financial affairs through acting as Property and Financial Affairs Attorney. Simon led the firm’s Will Aid Campaign which raised approaching £40,000 for charities including Age UK, Save The Children, Action Aid and British Red Cross.

Away from work and for very many years Simon has also been supporting his local community. He has been a School Governor, Chair of School Governors, he remains the very long-standing Chairman of the Social Club in the village where he lives, and (with every sympathy for members of the clergy and congregation) organist at the village church. He also enjoys long distance walks (in his youth he climbed Mont Blanc) and long distance cycling with his family and friends.
