Baljit Bem
Baljit joined MCP in April 2008 starting as a paralegal before becoming a trainee solicitor and qualifying in March 2011. She is now a Partner and Head of the Private Client and Family Department.
Baljit deals with varying Wills from very simple family Wills to more complex Wills including Trusts. She assists clients in the preparation of Lasting Powers of Attorney and helps families who may need to register an Enduring Power of Attorney. She has extensive experience in handling all types of estate administration from simply obtaining a Grant to dealing with the whole of the Estate from start to finish. This includes taxable estates and where ongoing Trusts are required.
Many clients ask Baljit to act as their Professional Attorney to assist them in managing their financial affairs if they became incapacitated and she has also been asked to help families make applications to the Court of Protection to become a Deputy for someone who is unable to manage their finances themselves and does not have an EPA or LPA in place.
Baljit is happy to offer home visits within the Peterborough area at no extra cost to the client and often visits clients in hospital or care homes if necessary. She also prepares Declarations of Trust for couples buying property together.
