Alison is a Partner in the firm. She joined MCP solicitors as a trainee solicitor in 1988 and qualified as a solicitor in 1990. She  is Head of the Criminal Law Team which she has established as one of the largest in the region.

Alison was appointed a Higher Court Advocate in 2005 and specialises in criminal defence work. As a duty solicitor Alison deals with a wide variety of cases ranging from summary only offences in the local magistrates' court to indictable only offences in the Crown Court. She has a particular area of expertise in motoring offences and serious sexual offences.

 Her team is regularly listed in the Legal 500 and Chambers directory in the top tier for Criminal Defence work.  She has been described in Legal 500 2023  as "hugely experienced with a real understanding of the criminal process"  and " having great tactical acumen and the ability to recognise what is important in a case".  She was named as a leading individual in the 2023 Legal 500.

In the past Alison has taken on a number of roles including administrator of the Kings Lynn & West Norfolk Duty Solicitor Committee, Chairman of the Regional Duty Solicitor Committee, Criminal Litigation representative of the local Law Society, Regional Representative of the Criminal Law Solicitors Association, National Executive Committee Member of the Association of Women Solicitors and she was also appointed by the Ministry of Justice as a Peer Reviewer to evaluate the files of other firms undertaking criminal defence work.

Away from work Alison has a long standing love of horse racing, having ridden ponies since she was very young.  More recently she has owned, brought on and ridden racehorses and previously worked riding for a local racehorse trainer. She has also had the fortune of leading a horse she part owned into the winners enclosure. Alison loves the countryside and enjoys country and forest walks. Alison is a former Parish Councillor and this is a role she hopes to resume when her work commitments permit
