Refund of Power of Attorney Application Fees - MCP Q&A
If you applied to register a Power of Attorney between 1st April 2013 and 31st March 2017 you can now apply for a refund of part of the application fee paid. This applies to Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPA) and registration of Enduring Powers of Attorney (EPA) made in England and Wales.
Who can make a claim for a refund?
Either the ‘donor’ (the person who made the power of attorney) or an ‘attorney’ (the person appointed by the donor in an LPA or EPA to make decisions on their behalf).
The refund must be paid to the donor. Only one claim per donor needs to be made, even if more than one Power of Attorney was made.
