Will Aid 2016

Metcalfe Copeman & Pettefar is pleased to announce that we will again this year be participating in the annual Will Aid Scheme at our firm’s King’s Lynn, Peterborough and Thetford offices.

In the past few years the firm has raised well in excess of £30,000 for the Will Aid charities, these including British Red Cross, Save the Children, Age UK and a number of others.

The way that the scheme works is that, during the month of November, (and subject to availability!) MCP will accept instructions for writing Wills, donating their fees to the Will Aid charity.  The suggested donation is £95 for a basic single Will or £150 for a pair of basic mirror Wills.   VAT is not charged.   Of course, rather larger donations are welcome, to reflect the  typical cost of professionally drawn Wills.   We also do reserve the right to make a charge ourselves, on top of the donation, if for instance the required Wills are particularly lengthy or particularly complex.  However, fair notice is always given in that, comparatively rare, event.

If you are interested in instructing MCP under the Will Aid Scheme, then please get in touch early, because often in the past demand has well outstripped supply.  Sometimes we are left with no alternative other than to literally put names “into a hat”!

Although most people enquire through the Will Aid charity, you certainly don’t have to do so and can approach us direct.  We will take on as many instructions as we sensibly can, but please be understanding if, owing to demand, we are unable to help.
