Great East Anglian Run raises £1500 for Feed Fenland

A team from MCP recently threw on their running trainers and took part in the GEAR 10k, a course renowned for attracting a large number of runners because of the flat course and perfect opportunities for personal best times! The course runs through the heart of King’s Lynn, and directly past our office during the start and finish of the race.

Team MCP were spurred on to raise money for a local initiative that is helping to fight food poverty. Feed Fenland, set up by George (an MCP staff member and one of our runners!) and Kristi, aims to provide hot meals to anyone who needs it and strives to build a sustainable support network through community resources. Feed Fenland has supported hundreds of people in the Fenland area, and completely relies on donations and volunteers. They also assist in providing sanitary products and clothing when possible.

A fantastic team of ten MCP staff spent time training in preparation for the run and many of the team produced timings they were extremely proud of, as well as spending time fundraising for Feed Fenland. We are delighted to announce that the total raised for Feed Fenland was a brilliant £1,500! George from Feed Fenland said “thank you to everyone who joined in and helped raise this money, it will assist us for many months to come to keep providing a hot and nutritious meal to those who need it”.
