Will Aid
Solicitors at Metcalfe Copeman & Pettefar (MCP) have been raising funds for charity by offering free will writing services. Instead of clients paying a fee to the firm, they were able to obtain professionally drawn Wills in exchange for a donation to the Will Aid Scheme.
Statistics point to the fact that 70% of adults die without having made a valid Will and by being a part of the Will Aid Scheme the firm have assisted in creating a greater awareness amongst the public of the importance of having a Will in place for the ease of those left behind. MCP have participated in the scheme in previous years and continue to support it by dedicating their time and expertise in exchange for donations from clients, which go to assisting vulnerable people through the very many deserving charities including Save the Children, NSPCC, Age UK and the British Red Cross.
Solicitors from the Peterborough, Kings Lynn and Thetford offices all took part in the scheme with a total of 83 Wills being drawn up across the offices. The Kings Lynn Office raised a tremendous £1,420.50 and it is hoped that across the firm the total donations received will be excess of £4,620.
MCP would like to thank all those who kindly donated and we hope to once again be part of the Will Aid Scheme in the future.
