Debt Collection
MCP are pleased to announce that they have further improved the debt collection service they can offer to clients. Through the purchase of the latest software we can now provide detailed financial information on companies that owe you money, including how long they are taking to pay other debts. The system also allows us to monitor those companies for you, so we can tell you if County Court judgements are registered against them or their credit rating dips for some other reason. This ongoing service may be particularly useful if you are in litigation with a company, whose financial status (and ability to pay a judgement) may change during the course of the case.
More generally the system should allow you to get a good picture of a company’s finances if you are contemplating litigation. In the majority of the contested cases we deal with the most difficult question is not whether you will win or lose but whether your opponent is good for the money. By having as much information as possible at the start you can make an informed decision
Even for those not involved in litigation this may be a useful tool. For example anyone contemplating the purchase of a business may want to ask us to carry out a quick search as part of their preliminary due diligence. If you are considering lending a business money a search may tell you that you shouldn’t go any further!
