Law Society President Andrew Holroyd took a break from his work at the National Law Society in London by visiting Solicitors in King's Lynn, including Metcalfe Copeman & Pettefar on Wednesday 20th February 2008.
A member of the National Law Society visits East Anglia once a year, usually focusing on Cambridge. However, this year was particularly special as the visit was made by the Law Society President himself and he chose to focus on King's Lynn and West Norfolk Law Society members.
Mr Holroyd met for lunch with local up and coming young lawyers, including Robert Colwell and Louisa Mawbey of MCP Solicitors. During this time they were able to discuss the future for lawyers and other issues affecting them.
After this Mr Holroyd visited MCP Solicitors. Here he spoke with Alison Muir, Simon Scott and other lawyers. They briefed the President on MCP's recent work and their position regarding the fight for Legal Aid.
Head of the King's Lynn office Alison Muir said of his visit "We were delighted to have the Law Society President spend the day in King's Lynn. It was helpful to discuss national issues at a local level and brief Mr Holroyd on our work in this region."
